Everything the
barrier needs.

Most containment failures on small work are logistical rather than technical. A crew arrives to do a two-hour job, discovers they are missing the mounting strips, and improvises with tape. Kits solve that by packaging the zipper, the fasteners, the panel, and the mounting hardware together so a compliant barrier goes up on the first trip. Clear panels serve a second purpose, letting staff and patients see that the work behind the barrier is controlled rather than hidden.

Specifying This Category

What to check before you buy.

Guidance from the Oncore consultants who write these permits and inspect the barriers that come out of them.

Ask a Consultant
  1. 01

Stock kits ahead of the work order. Class II jobs are frequently scheduled with little notice, and having a complete kit on the shelf is what keeps a rushed barrier from becoming a taped one.

  2. 02

Use clear panels in patient-facing corridors. Visibility reduces anxiety for patients and families, and it lets infection prevention confirm barrier condition without breaking the containment to look.

  3. 03

Match the kit to the class of work. A kit built for short-duration Class II work is not a substitute for a rigid barrier when the permit calls for Class III or Class IV containment.

  4. 04

Keep refills separate from kits in your inventory. The adhesive mounting components are what get consumed first, and running out of them is what pushes a crew back toward single-use plastic.

Where This Fits

The classes this category serves.

II

Class II

Small-scale, short-duration work that creates minimal dust. Cutting access panels, accessing chase spaces, sanding or patching a small wall area.

Dust control measures, HEPA vacuuming as the work proceeds, sealing unused doors and air vents, and containing debris before it leaves the space. Soft containment and entry control are usually enough.

III

Class III

Work that generates moderate to high dust levels, or that requires removing a fixed building component such as a wall, ductwork, or casework.

Critical barriers that fully seal the work area, negative air pressure maintained with HEPA filtration, and every penetration sealed. Pressure has to be verified, not assumed.

IV

Class IV

Major demolition and construction. Work spanning multiple shifts, requiring consecutive work shifts, or involving heavy demolition and removal of a complete cabling or ceiling system.

Rigid sealed barriers with an anteroom for gowning and equipment transfer, continuous negative air pressure with HEPA exhaust, tacky mats at every transition, and documented monitoring for the life of the project.
